Yesterday, we drove with our dog Dali to the Tierklinik Hollabrunn, to find out why he was unable to move his legs for the last 2 weeks.
The people who work there are great professionals - I just wish I'll get such a great treatment when I'm in hospital.
Nevertheless, a CT of his neck area revealed that he had an Spinal Disc Herniation, which had caused irreperable damage, and which couldn't be undone by an operation.
So we had to make the painful decision to have him euthanized; we stayed with him while he fell asleep for the last time.
Dali was loved instantly by everyone who knew him. Even people usually afraid of dogs couldn't help but cuddle him. We are not the only ones who will always remember him dearly.
Rest In Peace, friend.
I am very sorry for your loss! Even though I barely knew Dali, I also loved him, just as you said, and shall remember him dearly. I think that not only did he make everyone around him happy - in the same way you also turned his life into a wonderful and precious experience.
Such a gift, and all the memories, cannot be undone by any transition. Thus may happiness return to you! I wish you both, and your past and future dogs, all the best.
